After a fun summer spent together with friends at camps, daycare, sleepovers and extra-curricular activities, there is a good chance we will soon start hearing about some cases of head lice at Glen O.
BEFORE you receive a letter home from the school indicating that your child’s class has been affected, we would encourage you to check your child’s hair thoroughly…now AND on a weekly basis. Early detection and proper treatment can help prevent the spread of head lice at Glen Ogilvie. Please take a few minutes to read “HEAD LICE 101” – a document which contains useful information and links to websites which can help you effectively check your family for head lice, and if needed, to treat it. You can find it on the Glen Ogilvie School Council website (www.gosc.ca) – just click on the “Council” heading, then scroll down to “Head Lice 101”. This handout was created by a team of parent volunteers in 2014 and has been endorsed by the Glen Ogilvie School Council and the school administration.
If you have questions or comments or need some tips or advice, please feel free to contact the PAL team, a group of parent volunteers at Glen O who have all had experience dealing with head lice. Contact info: GlenOgilviePAL@gmail.com
